Halloween 2009: Omniture PWN’D

As I’m sure you’ve heard, Omniture cooks up a mean Halloween.  For those of you that want to try it out yourselves, here is the recipe:

Hire little people—Nothing says Halloween like little folks.  It might not be completely PC.  It might even earn you some askance glances from your newly acquired management team at a really large software company with a big red A in their logo.  But just do it.

Competition with prizes—When I look back and wonder, “Um, how did this ever manage to become what it is?”  I remember that it wasn’t always this way.  Score one for the notion that a little competition can spur innovation.

Invite the kids—“We should invite the kids to trick or treat.”  Never have so few words wrought so much at Omniture.  The best part is how it gives people an excuse.  “Oh, I’m doing it for the children.”  Of course you are.  No demographic will appreciate your green-screen digital special effects like 2 year olds in clown costumes.

Thanks everyone at Omniture.  Until next year…

Competition with prizes—When I look back and wonder, “Um, how did this ever manage to become what it is?”  One answer to that is giving away departmental prizes.  Proof once again that a little competition can spur innovation.

You totally owned it again this year!
